The Xbox LIVE Summer of Arcade ended with a bang, thanks to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Be ready to experience a fun, satisfying and action packed Xbox LIVE Arcade game like no other this summer.

Gameplay/Story: Let’s get the story out of the way before we get in to the ultimate experience the game offers. The sexy and sweaty Lara uncovers an ancient mirror in South America which then releases a demonic Aztec God, thanks to goofy and greedy loot hunters trying to take credit for the mirror. August 30th, 2010 | By Desz

With the recent price increase announcement of Xbox Live, does this make PlayStation Plus a better deal now? Xbox LIVE’s old pricing has always been a fair price considering the amount of features it delivers, and hopefully this price increase introduces new features that will make the extra $10 worth the change., but let’s not forget another great price the PSN offers, free 99. Xbox Live Chat Quality To Get Remastered This Fall

August 27th, 2010 | By Desz

I thought I was the only one that couldn’t hear my fellow 360 gamers when chatting it up on Xbox LIVE. The Xbox LIVE chat sound quality is currently sounding like a cheap AT&T 1 bar call, but coming this fall along side the Kinect, is a much needed upgraded to Xbox LIVE’s audio infrastructure.

Eurogamer reports that Xbox Live Studios’ head honcho, Jerry Johnson said that this should make for a much more clean and clear chat when you play on Xbox LIVE.

“The codec we used when we first launched was a low bit rate codec and we stuck with that,” Johnson said at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival today, reports Eurogamer.

While broadband was required at service launch, it was a 64k connection and the chat service was tailored for that. Johnson notes that most won’t think of that low a connection speed as broadband these days.

“It’s time for us to move on. Especially if we want to think about broadening – a crackly headset on the top of your head – not what people think of when they talk about popular entertainment.”

A Beats By Dre sound quality is all we ask for. I’m audio head, so you bet this is one of my most anticipated gaming feature enhancements this year.

Blacklight:Tango Down XBLA Review

August 20th, 2010 | By Denoch

With so many first person shooters out on the market, it is difficult to pass up on decent ones, especially if you are a fan of the genre. Blacklight: Tango Down is another option to get your shooter fix, at an affordable price.

Gameplay /Story: When you first fire the game up, you will enter a “Combat Zone” where you will find private and public matches. Next is the Black Ops missions, you can either play solo or kill the enemies with your friends. In Black Ops you can’t figure out if it’s the main campaign or if it’s just another random mission that you play with your buddies. When you start the mission you are placed right in front of the action with only objectives needed to accomplish to proceed to the next round. This area of the combat zone lacks storyline and lacks clues to what is happening around this over-run and destroyed city. You will have to go to the “How to Play” section to find out what your purpose in the game is. (more…)

Xbox 360 Gamers, Get Better Sound From Your Games For Much Less

August 19th, 2010 | By Desz

One of the most underrated features about video games has to be the sound. You can play a great game such as Uncharted 2 or Halo, but if your sound lacks bass, treble, and clarity, you are not getting the experience, video game developers intend you to have. While having a top of the line surround sound system is great, not everybody can blast their system loud enough without bothering family or neighbors, unless you live in boonies somewhere. Luckily, for us city gamers, there are gaming headsets. (more…)

Yes you read right, Halo: Reach is readily available for download via Xbox LIVE for only 99999 Microsoft points. How much is 99999 Microsoft points you ask? $1250.00 to be exact. Now according to our sources, this is not a glitch, but there is a catch. Marketing!!! No, the true catch may be that the game will be available for reviewers as a downloadable copy much like they did for Crackdown 2, and later bring the price down to what it should be. Not sure why they would tease us like this, but let us know if you happen to use your rent money for the game. check it out for your self. (more…)
