In case you haven’t checked out Limbo on XBLA, (You can read our review here) the game has a crazy unique art style full of puzzles for only $15. If $15 is too much for you and own a copy of Little Big Planet for the PS3, you can now play the Limbo game for free. Well, not excatly the authentic game, but basically a very close and fun version of the game as created by PS3 gamer.

Fuck the Wii! Sold my Wii, let me clean the dust off my Wii, it’s no HD, The Wii has no games. These are all comments you will read on forums, blogs, sites regarding the Wii’s abilities. While, I won’t disagree that my Wii picks up dust more than my PS3 and 360, it’s funny to see gamers fighting over what motion system is better, the ‘Kinect’ or ‘PS Move’. All of sudden you love motion gaming?

Newegg is on a video game deal rampage right now, making the Final Fantasy XIII 250GB White Elite Limited edition available for only $230 with free shipping. Ladies and gentleman, if you don’t own a 360, this 360 is one of the newest models pre the slim, and at this price, it’s hard to pass it up.

What really attracted me to Limbo initially was the unique art style the game brings to the Xbox 360. While its art style plays a huge part of the game, I was shocked to find a few things about Limbo that were completely unexpected.

Replay Value/Story: There is no story, so with that out of the way, is there any replay value? I would say if you like puzzles then you might like to run through the game one more time. The game is a puzzle platformer that brings a unique style and look to the Xbox 360. Frankly, games like these are expected on the PS3, so it’s great to see Xbox Live receive some unique exclusive games.

You are a small boy running around solving puzzles, fighting huge spiders, pushing boxes, occasional encountering trap setting enemies that seem to want to slow you down for some unexplained reason. The puzzles are always challenging, but not frustrating, I did find myself youtubing a few of the puzzles, such as the ‘elevator’ and ‘magnet’ puzzles.

After an hour into the game, it feels as you are running with no purpose. You might be running away, or running towards something, it’s definitely the only puzzle that cannot be solved in the game. Leaving me like “WTF”? more than once during my sitting.

Controls: The controls are very simple, you use only 2 buttons, the A and The B, the ‘B’ being your action, while A is your jump. Your small character can; hang, jump and grab onto ledges, cliffs, boxes and more. Overall, the controls were precise and comfortable.

Graphics: This is where the game shines. Limbo has a very unique art style; it is completely black and white and feels very Tim Burton mixed with a 1920’s horror film. While the game may look cute at first glance, the game is far from rated E for everyone. The game can be brutally violent and disturbing at times. I was completely caught off guard when my character gingerly walked through a path, and then got brutally smashed by a bear trap. Freaking awesome and unexpected moment!!! There are plenty of other ways to die in the game, some brutally worse than others. While blood is never exposed due to the lack of color, it would have been nice to see red as the third color, since there are tons of violent and unexpected deaths in the game.

Sound: The sound is that of an old 1920’s horror film as well. It has a scratchy sound to it, like that of an old Vinyl player. There is never a real suspense soundtrack during the game. No character voices will be heard through out the game.

Wishes or Changes: The biggest issue with the game is the lack of story, although it is a unique and challenging game, the lack of story leaves you confused. Never-the-less, the developers could have easily left the game without a story, so gamers can come up with their own take on it and leave it all to one’s imagination. A huge change is the price; at $15 the price seems a bit high for a 3-4 hour game. Limbo is easily a $10 title.

Final Verdict: Limbo delivers in unique style, but lacked in story. Limbo is definitely one of the most unique arcade games as far as art style goes on Xbox Live. If you like puzzle-platform games, this game might be right up your alley, if you tend to get bored by puzzles, you might want to try the demo on Xbox Live first.

Newegg comes through yet again, with an incredible $20 deal on Bioshock 2 for the Xbox 360 with free shipping. If your excuse was the price before, then you are out of excuses. At $20, it’s a Shocking deal.

Don’t throw away your fighting pads just yet. To fighting fans’ surprise, Capcom officially announced Street Fighter X Tekken (X equals VS ) at Comic Con this past weekend.

Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono was quick to point out that the game will be available on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 which should be applauded. Even more interesting is that the game is in development at Namco which actually makes the Tekken series. Does this mean we’ll be seeing a more realistic version of Street Fighter characters ala the Street Fighter EX series? Chances are we’ll find out soon enough as production is already underway.

Unfortunately no release date is officially announced but you can whet your appetite by watching the trailer below:

Update: According to G4TV’s lastest post, both Namco and Capcom will be making two seperate cross-over games without collaboration. So in essence we’ll be seeing Namco’s Tekken X Street Figher and Capcom’s Street Fight X Tekken. This could mean we’ll get entirely one game with Street Fighter backgrounds and cartoony characters while the other contains fighting arenas from the Tekken series and more realistic character models.

No word on pricing or if both games will be released together as a boxed set.

Just when we thought that Master Chief would never return to a Halo game, Bungie teases us with a statement that has Halo fans in a frenzy. But, Halo fans may want to settle down, and realize that this could be nothing but a Movie teaser statement.

During Bungie’s San Diego Comic-Con 2010 panel this weekend, the firm told attendees that: “You haven’t seen the last of Master Chief.” While many have speculated that this can be for a Halo 4 return, or an appearance in Halo: Reach before it ends. This can also lead to some other parts of his enlistment that we have never played through or seen. Can this be an early tease to the ‘Halo’ movie? I would say more than likely, considering the ‘Halo’ IMDB official posting.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 250GB slim model has caused incredible price drops on another 360 console that is no more than 4 months old.

Newegg is currently offering a Final Fantasy 250 GB white Super Elite Model, the only Super Elite in White, with a jasper chipset, 250GB hard drive, 2 controllers, headset, and Final Fantasy XIII the game for $249.99. These particular 360 models are very limited, since they are they only Xbox 360’s with the title ‘Super Elite’. Originally came out in November 2009. The Final Fantasy Bundle originally released in March 2010.

The first 2 screens for the all new Fight Night: Champion game have been revealed. Fight Night: Champion will release in 2011 for the PS3 and 360. There will be between 60 and 65 boxers on the roster for the final product and users will implement the new “Full Spectrum Punch Control” to move the combatants around the ring.

IGN recently interviewed Brian Hayes, Gameplay Producer on Fight Night Champion, and he stated the following:

“It’s something people won’t expect from an EA Sports game”

EA Sports also covered the new control method as delivering both “the most realistic punching system ever seen” while still allowing Champion to be “the most user-friendly title in the franchise’s history.”

Developed by Realtime Worlds, Crackdown 2 is what Crackdown fans have been waiting for over 3 years, with more orb hunting, climbing on buildings, shooting the enemy, killing bosses….oh wait, killing bosses is not part of the sequel. But did I mention orb hunting?

Replay Value/Story: One of the things that really made the original Crackdown such a great game, were the missions, the satisfaction of getting to the main boss of a gang and punching the lights out of him with your high level fighting skills. In Crackdown 2, you can forget about fighting bosses, the main goal in the sequel is to protect beacons from Mutants…Yes, you read right. While collecting orbs, shooting the enemy and causing massive explosions is still very addicting and satisfying, the game as a whole, feels less active as the first.

Your main goal is to clean-up the same city from the first game that has gone through a massive and unexplained downgrade involving mutants over the past 10 years. You can still ride on vehicles, throw vehicles, upgrade your abilities, and move around town through roofs much like the first game, but now there are tons of mutants walking around the city, waiting for you to enter their sights. The mutant part of the game is a bit confusing, and almost misleading. The game tries to help you understand the story by having scattered audio files with random notes around the city much like we have seen in other games. The problem is, the notes don’t really give you much. There is almost no purpose why mutants should be roaming the streets. The lack of story has you guessing whether it’s a good decision or not to kill them.

Co-op Gameplay: Here is where the fun really elevates. One of the cool things they have added this time around is a four player co-op mode. You can go through the whole game with 3 other friends. Whether it’s for; orb hunting, missions, or just climbing building, playing with 3 other friends is the way to enjoy Crackdown 2. In addition to the 4 player co-op, Crackdown 2 offers what is called “Xbox Live Orbs” that can only be captured by having 2 players in a game at once. These orbs may have some secret rewards from Microsoft.

Controls: Crackdown 2’s control system is very good with the exception of one control flaw. Shooting, fighting, reloading, driving, jumping and running all feel accurate and smooth, until you try to hang on to a window ledge. In Crackdown 2 you have to depend on many ledges when climbing buildings, and let’s just say that not all ledges are created equal. There will be times when you won’t be able to find one ledge to grab on to, even after you just grabbed the same type of ledge on a different building.

Graphics: Crackdown’s 2’s graphics are nothing less of top-notch, the cell-shading style was very inviting the first time around, and a bit of an upgrade is what you will get with Crackdown 2. The Agent’s suite and weapons looked a bit more polished this time around; with a bit more player close ups when moving in different directions.

Sound: Explosions!! Yes indeed, the game has some great and loud explosion sound effects, along with crisp reloading and shooting sound effects. The game’s sound complements the graphics to perfection, making the game feel intense, motivating, and satisfying when unleashing a clip on fuel barrels right next to the enemy line. Gaming headsets or a robust surround sound system is recommended for Crackdown 2.

Wishes or Changes: Although Crackdown 2 felt familiar at times and continues to be an addicting open world game, thanks to its orbs, upgrades, satisfying kills, and now 4 player co-op mode. Crackdown 2 didn’t introduce anything unique and revolutionary to the game. Audio logs and mutants/zombie likes have been seen is so many games recently, but Crackdown 2 missed the actual twist to a confusing and empty story. The lack of boss battles had you eager to finish the game and not the missions. Hopefully, the franchise unfolds with Crackdown 3.

What formula do you use when you create a really good and then have to make a sequel at a equal or greater value? Its simple, you just “copy and paste” your previous work with little modifications. The game is crackdown 2, an open world GTA-esque, where you play an agent cleaning the streets of Mutants and a Rebellious terrorist group.

First thing you will notice is that the graphics are slightly better and now have a more cell shaded feel to it, it blends very well with the quirky violence and the unnatural high jumps but nothing that we haven’t seen. The gaming mechanics still feel the same as the previous installment, there doesn’t seem to be a significant improvements(if any) on the driving or shooting controls. Although it is still addicting to collect orbs, it can be very difficult and frustrating when you climb on certain windows of the taller buildings and your agent doesn’t hold on or when your character is on the roof walking and you accidentally fall from the building and doesn’t automatically hold on to the ledge, this subtle issues are still present and weren’t fixed.

The game is very short and repetitive if you only play the main story line, there are nine beacons you have to find and twenty seven terrorist areas that you have to clear. Find three signals through out the map and then find the beacon, protect the beacon till it charges, beacon kills Mutants, then repeat the objective nine more times. The same repetition works when you clean areas that are occupied by the rebels. The story line in the game is not present, a terrorist group makes sense but the zombie-mutants seem out of place, with no indications how this creatures were created, although there are audio files scattered around the city that fail to fully explain their presence. The intention of the terrorist or the rebellion faction to overthrow and appose the agency is only natural after the ending of original crackdown but there is little back story and not enough character development for the faction or leader called Catalina. There is very little information on both of the antagonist to keep the story rich and fresh.

Where the game truly shines is on the four player co-op, 3 of your friends can join your campaign and help you with your missions, the only disadvantage to that is any story progression stays only with the host but any orbs or level ups you obtain can be save into your profile. Jumping around, completing repetitive objectives, collecting orbs and driving in a helicopter with all your buddies becomes very fun and you forget about it’s flaws.

In the end it comes down to whether or not you liked the first crackdown because depending on your answer Crackdown 2 offers much of the same.

This cracking title gets a 3 of 5 Michelas.

The Xbox 360 250GB Super Elite was introduced as a limited edition bundle console in late 2009 with Modern Warfare 2. It later came with other bundle options, such as Final Fantasy XIII (in white finish) and Splinter Cell: Conviction. The console has a sexy flat black finish with; HDMI, Ethernet, USB ports, standard video port, with 2 black controllers, one black Xbox live headset, one Ethernet cable, a set of composite cables (no High Def cables included), and the bundled game, in this case; Splinter Cell: Conviction.

The console’s noise levels are much lower than those of the original Xbox 360. When initially turning the console on, I noticed that the power-up noise was no longer present like the older 360 models. The console sounds smoother and quite when idled. The disc drive still produces some noise, but that is where the 250GB hard drive comes in to play. Installing 360 games directly to the hard drive will increase load times, and reduce disc drive noise while playing.

Activision has just announced Apache: Air Assault for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The game will specifically focus on air assaults in the coast of Africa, the mountains of the Middle East and the jungles of Central America. The game will have a 16 stage mission, along with Arcade Mode which will allow players to easily pick up the controls and jump right into the combat. The Realistic mode showcases the real depth of the title, where the dedication to realism and precision shines through. The local Co-op Campaign Mode lets two players team up in the same Apache with one as the pilot and the other as the co-pilot.

If that weren’t enough, Apache: Air Assault will also have online multiplayer matches such as Team Deathmatch, Ground Attack, Capture the LZ, and Ground Strike.

The game is sounding really good, with enough modes to keep gamers busy. Apache: Air Assault strikes this fall.

After the announcement that 2K sports would have Michael Jordan blessing the NBA 2k11 cover, the only thing that was left, was an actual image of the greatest of all time doing what he did best. Ladies and gentleman, feast your eyes on the greatest basketball cover of all time.

For only $49.99 you can join  throngs of  zombies on Xbox Live or you could get a get a return on your investment with PlayStation Plus. I know what you’re thinking. Oh brother…another PS3 fanboy post. Granted, I prefer the PS3 over my 360 but I also prefer common sense over irrationality.

Millions of users love Xbox Live and with good reason; however, love alone does not excuse paying for over 80% of features available elsewhere for FREE. With the exception of Xbox Live Primetime, Cross Game Chat, True Skill, and Live Anywhere, Xbox Live features are ridiculously unnecessary.

While the party system is convenient, it is hard to justify paying $49.99 to play unranked games with my friends which in most cases negates the True Skill feature. Custom soundtracks and a handful of other features can easily be put into games by developers. Netflix, Hulu, ESPN, Last.fm, Twitter, and Facebook are all available free elsewhere and do nothing to add to gaming. While on the PSN, Facebook is integrated with the Trophy system and the PlayStation Store….once gain…for FREE.

So what are Xbox Live patrons really paying for? In truth…a reason to keep using the Xbox 360.

While gamers pay for the right to play online with Microsoft, Sony has released a program which does not force you to pay for basic online gaming. Instead they give users special beta invites, automatic patch downloading, free games, and free downloadable content–all of this is specifically used to entice and reward you to  play on the PS3.

Sony does not spend a whole lot of time integrating things into the XMB unless it adds to your gaming or their store. That is exactly why Netflix requires a disc and why Hulu+ won’t be a “custom experience.” Because of Sony’s approach, the XMB is clean, efficient, and prominently focused on gaming. When coupled with PlayStation.Blog Share, it is easy to see just how much the PSN and PlayStation Plus can grow.

So when gamers say Xbox Live is better than PlayStation Plus or that PlayStation Plus is not worth it, ask them why the hell they bought a gaming console in the first place? To play music, watch ESPN, and talk on Twitter? Or perhaps they bought it to play games.

One example of how consumer friendly Kinect is, would be the one single Kinect camera consumers would purchase, while the PS Move may confuse consumers with separate accessories and prices. Heck, consumers want to see something different, most casual gamers already own a Wii, watching a PS Move commercial may leave them thinking ‘it’s like the Wii”. While Kinect introduces something curious and different

The release date of both motion systems, are also something to consider. The PS Move releases in September, while Kinect releases in November, just in time for the holiday season. While both will offer holiday deals, the Kinect is targeted specially at the younger crowd. Look at the games Kinect is starting off with, all simple and kiddy games that have proved to be a hit with the Nintendo Wii.

Every year companies put out their latest and greatest while fans almost always take sides especially in the gaming arena. On the surface, there is nothing wrong with consumer loyalty as people are drawn to things that attract them. The problem comes when people become irrational in their viewpoints of the competition or when defending their choice.

Simply put…some people cannot admit they are wrong.

Recently the launch of the Xbox 360 S has brought renewed vigor from the dwindling faction of 360 fanboys. While defending your purchase is acceptable, a blind eye coupled with vapid comments can make intelligent or even progressive conversation impossible.

A few videos of the new Xbox 360 S have popped up showing us its faults. All focus on the unit overheating but with different results. In one video, upwards of five white jagged horizontal lines cover the screen. Another video shows a red dot on the console appearing and a message showing the console was shutting down to prevent overheating. The latest video released shows the power brick’s normally orange light turn red.

As you can imagine, the comments in response ranged from clever to downright ignorant. The Xbox 360 contingent cried “PS3 fanboy” despite this guy clearly owning the red Resident Evil 360 and the new slim. Common sense shoots down that argument as no PS3 fanboy I know would buy two elite 360 consoles period.

As to the comments concerning his care of his consoles, the Xbox 360 S was out in the open with plenty of ventilation for both the console and the power brick.

The last argument bordered on insanity. Apparently they think he broke the console on purpose just to film it this way. Except for a few people who like to blend up electronics, the average gamer does not try to break his/her stuff. Why? Because it would only hurt him/her! Just think. Would you break your PS3, Wii, or Xbox 360 just to make a video about it? No, you are probably going to try to play the crap of whatever consoles you have to get your money’s worth .

The most telling sign of a fanboy is their absolute disregard for logic. For the Xbox 360 S, it seems the defenders are that party.

In fact, if you analyze these proven faults in an objective manner, it will raise other questions. Why was not Microsoft able to make the console with the power supply inside? Why should I stop playing my console just to accommodate for Microsoft’s lack of proper engineering? Why are all these problems concerning the console overheating occurring? What did Microsoft do different with this console than the older one? What kind of warranty is Microsoft offering for these?

In the end, there are problems with every console. People, including fanboys, should want these problems fixed! Instead fanboys make excuses and find scapegoats. That is fine…but all that finger-pointing does not stop the overheating issues. Given Microsoft’s console history, a person would be incredulously unwise to think this slim with the same type of power supply is not capable of having similar issues. You see not everybody is a fanboy. Some people just want the stuff they buy to work.

The first ever Lucha Libre game due out in August ‘AAA:Lucha Libre Heroes del Ring’ will sure to get all Lucha Libre, or even Nacho Libre fans ready for real wrestling.

TQcast recently had a chance to talk with Julian Castillo from Slang about the much anticipated ‘AAA:Lucha Libre Heroes del Ring’. It is not wrestling it is Lucha libre. Check out the video interview below.

Slang had by far the best game presentation at E3 2010, with a full size Lucha ring filled with Luchadores. Look out for AAA:Lucha Libre Heroes del Ring for the Wii, PS3, 360, DS, PSP on August 9 this year.

KEY GAME FEATURES

• Innovative Scoring System: Unique to Lucha Libre is the fact that wrestlers need to gain the support of the crowd in order to win the match – as players increase their popularity they will be able to unlock progressively more deadly moves which they will be able to inflict upon their opponent.

Recently, Nowgamer received an e-mail from Microsoft in respond to the new Xbox 360’s over heating issues. Microsoft completely ignored the question and stated the following:

“We couldn’t be more proud of the consoles we are building now, as well as the new Xbox 360″.

hmmm?? Seems like Microsoft may be working on the next gen Xbox system, and quite possibly testing games with it. Microsoft made it clear that they are proud of the their new consoles, as well as the new Xbox 360. Although not the route foreseen for Microsoft, it appears that they may be sticking to a console for their next gen system. Seems like overheating will no longer be an issue for them.

Next Gen could be closer than we think. Can we see the next gen Xbox console in 2011.

Before we start getting off track, the article is focusing on the motion control area, an area that Sony and Microsoft are just now, trying to capitalize in. Now, let’s bring up the hate–so called hard core gamers had for the Wii before Sony and Microsoft announced their motion systems. The Wii is always talked about as the dusty old console that nobody wants to play, while the PS3 and XBOX 360 is always being played online. So what is the difference now? Will gamers give in, now that their system supports motion controls?

After attending E3 this year, (if you didn’t attend E3 & tried for yourself, I suggest you try before you type), Motion Controls for both Microsoft and Sony seemed old, seemed too familiar, seemed out of place. Nintendo on the other hand, has been doing this for years; anything new for the Wii seems to feel refreshed. A great example is a game called ‘Epic Mickey’. The game had E3 in a frenzy.

Whether we want to believe it or not, The Wii came in well ahead of its time. Even without the HD graphics, the Wii continues to be a huge success and continues to stay consistent. The console that made Sony and Microsoft change their game plan may not need an HD upgrade anytime soon, since the competition has finally touched motion controls.

Don’t be a fan boy, realize that Nintendo had this on lock years ago and expect Nintendo to revolutionize gaming once again in the next few years. Graphics is not everything, and we have clearly witnessed that with the focus Microsoft and Sony have on motion controls. You can’t blame them for heading that route. Oh, and 3DS with no glasses…yeah Nintendo is once again, ahead of the game.

The biggest question most gamers had, when Microsoft announced the Xbox 360 Slim this past week; was “did they fix the red ring”? Several days ago, some images surfaced the internet, showing a red ring on a new Xbox 360 slim console, and a message prompt on the screen with an over heating warning. Nobody is positive whether those images are real or not, but one thing we should all be aware, is that Microsoft has supported the RROD with an extended 3 year warranty on the classic models, while the new 360 Slim console enters with only a 1 year warranty. Gamers’ best bet, would be to save some cash and troubles, and go out and buy an Xbox 360 arcade instead, and let the new Xbox 360 slim go through trial and error with the eager consumers.

The Xbox 360 Slim was introduced at $299.99, the same price of the Xbox 360 Elite that had a red ring issue. Microsoft has gone all out to fix the ventilation system, make it whisper quite, and provide internal wireless N capability and a 250GB hard drive. But did Microsoft give this console the same 3 year warranty deal that the first Xbox 360 consoles received? Reading through the Xbox 360 S’ warranty page proves that Microsoft is sure that the console will not fail due to a red ring. Obviously, every console will have some defects or issues, but the RROD has been a huge deciding factor for next gen gamers, that having the new Xbox 360 Slim fail for that same reason could have Microsoft in huge trouble.

Mass Effect 2 has just received a huge limited price reduction from Gohasting.com. Without a doubt, Mass Effect 2 will be nominated as Game of the Year, and should not be missed by any 360 gamer, for $20, it is a steal!

Vanquish can be easily overlooked for the fact that the game has similar gameplay as those of Gears of War and Halo, and immediately gets marked as a wanna be type of game, a game that copied existing games. But one should be aware that Vanquish can easily be a huge sleeper hit because of that; Vanquish may seem as another shooter, but playing the game’s demo can easily prove that the game has a unique gamestyle that is tons of fun. Although Vanquish didn’t receive any Game of E3 nominations, Vanquish can easily be one of the sleeper hits this year, and surprise many. Vanquish will only be a single player experience, which could prove to be a good decision by Sega. Gives us a good story!

Vanquish is scheduled to release winter 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Sure, many gamers have been calling Microsoft’s recent Xbox 360 generous giveaway this morning nothing more than a bribe, but does it even matter? This is by far one of the biggest things to happen to gaming, and one of the smartest moves Microsoft could have done this year.

The Oprah effect is exactly what Microsoft did today, back in 2004 Oprah Winfrey gave over 200 brand new cars to her audience, which in return has been a huge success for her show. So, whether people think it was a bribe or not, Microsoft’s generosity was huge, and a proven marketing scheme that is a win win situation for gamers and companies.

So, how will Sony top this generosity? Perhaps Sony’s scheme is different, maybe free MOVE packages? Or maybe Sony had no plans to do what Microsoft did, but you better believe that their plans, may have changed today.

While most gamers appear upset at the choice, especially after one year of accepting the name Project Natal, Microsoft’s adroit title seems to follow a certain pattern of synergy that most gaming companies have adapted these days.

Kinesiology is the science of human movement. So it seems fitting choice when realizing that Microsoft is connecting your movement to your console. In essence, your body becomes the controller and you “Kinect” together to achieve great feats.

Of course, Microsoft could have completely different reasoning but it seems unlikely. However, there first Kinect commercial fails to address the hardcore gamers and instead goes right for the jugular of the casual gamer. They obviously want to know what the pulse of mainstream consumers is like.

The commercial features a father apparently driving in a seated position. His family’s joyful facial expressions change when a perceived dangerous obstacle is afoot. The mother and daughter rush to his side interlocking their arms and hands around in mimicking the restraints of a seat belt right before the impact occurs.

The end result is flying confetti and a family “Kinected” together. We see what you did there Microsoft! While hardcore gamer reception has been less than great, Kinect is a success in the fact that it has people talking.

Overall, the marketing is genius. It may not be popular now but it makes sense. It’s not overly complex but clever enough to engage those who are unaware of this new tech.

It’s just too bad Microsoft opted for the Kinect to fade to red at 1:04 of the commercial as that color associated with the Xbox 360 is never a welcome sight.

The Microsoft Applied Sciences Group is working on a new 3-D technology that will dismiss the need of any glasses what so ever. This new technology will use cameras to track viewers’ eyes with special lenses that control lighting.

Looks like Microsoft is not ditching 3-D what so ever, they are thinking past the annoying expensive glasses. Hope this technology takes off. Currently, the technology only allows 2 people to view 3-D at one time.

Gaming sites go in a frenzy after reading that Xbox Product Manager Aaron Greenberg claimed that Halo 3 sold more copies than 4 or 5 Sony exclusive’s put together.. Who cares??? Greenberg won that argument by ending up in gaming news headlines. Aaron Greenberg wants his face in sites, blogs and forums before E3, he wants to be recognized, he does it for his brand.

Same goes for CliffyB Epic Games Design Director. Let’s see; promoting a new Gears of War game, Epic’s recent Gears of War 2 6x XP for playing online to get people hyped up for Gears 3, CliffyB on gaming headline news–yeah, Epic is doing everything right by putting their main guy in the public right before E3.

CliffyB and Arron Greenberg may get tons of criticism, but these guys know marketing, and know when and how to use it when needed most.

SEGA will unleash 2 titles this fall starting with Sonic Adventure then Crazy Taxi. Both games will have upgraded high definition graphics, achievements and trophies, plus online leader boards to mark your spot.

3D has been around for quite some time now, but never publicly marketed the way it is today and never enhanced the way it is with today’s technology. Health issues may have never surfaced due to the minimal amount of 3-D content available to the public until today. But just like everything else in the planet, it is bound to affect you right?

It is the year 2010, 3-D will make its mark in gaming and movies this year and many will go out and purchase a new state of the art 3-D ready TV without even considering health issues.

Wyoming News reported that many Eye Doctors argue that repeatedly asking our eyes and brains to go against their normal function has short-term effects. This can cause long-term effect on small children whose vision systems are still in development.

Others have different theories, such as Dr. Dan Perala from ‘A New Concept Optical’. Perala states that the worst-case scenario with 3-D is some irritation or tired eyes. The sensation is similar to the adjustment that comes with a new set of eyeglasses.

Perala also stated, that he hasn’t heard any concerns or questions from patients, but that could change as more 3-D movies come out and move people line up to see them.

Eye Doctors now a day may not have answers just yet. 3-D is just starting to hit homes, and perhaps that is the reason why it never developed in to anything bigger in the past. We alter our vision every day, whether you wear sunglasses or prescription glasses, the eyes are always busy. Many people report that they get headaches from watching just one movie in 3-D. Now, just imagine playing a few hours a day of video games in 3-D?

Let’s just hope that vision cases due to 3-D movies or games don’t start surfacing to the public anytime soon; because if they do, the 3-D technology may never take off the way it was intended.

Heavy Rain has been receiving some high review scores from many gaming sites and blogs. Sony’s 2010 momentum has been quite good thus far, and some of the best things about the PS3’s recent releases have been the great exclusives.

But let’s not forget about the Xbox 360, the 360 has some great 2010 exclusives out, such as Mass Effect 2 and have many more coming this year. Let’s look at Deadly Premonition for instance, the 3D Horror game that sends the gamer to investigate a murder mystery in a world where the supernatural is also present. Deadly Premonition has been under the radar for quite some time now, and although the game might not look as good as Heavy Rain, the game seems to have some potential.

Alan Wake is another 360 exclusive that seems to have all the mechanics to be a Heavy Rain contender this year. The nice looking graphics, what appears to be a great story, and Microsoft’s great marketing and community to back it up.

While Sony has been really good at implementing out of the box ideas to these exclusive games, and having success with it, Microsoft has had their own share of success with shooters, and role playing action games. But can Microsoft hold their own against Heavy Rain? Are Deadly Premonition and Alan Wake the games equivalent to that of Heavy Rain for the PS3? Or does Microsoft have a secret weapon that has yet to be revealed?

Only time will tell how good Deadly Premonition and Alan Wake will do compared to Heavy Rain, but one thing is for sure, every gamer should be ready to see a toe to toe match for the remaining of the year. The Xbox 360 should not be counted out just yet; games like Heavy Rain inspire the competition the most.

Looks like Microsoft is coming back strong in 2010.

-The Halo Reach multiplayer beta will kick off on May 3. You will be able to access the beta via the Halo 3: ODST game disc.

-Dead Rising 2 will release in North America on Aug. 31, Japan on Sept. 2 and Europe on Sept. 3.

-Dead Rising: CASE ZERO an exclusive download only on Xbox LIVE, will launch prior to the full game and provide a playable prologue that bridges the story between the two titles.

-Alan Wake will launch May 18 in North America and May 21 in Europe. Players can pre-order the title to receive the Bright Falls Bonus Pack, which includes exclusive content like Avatar gear, an Xbox LIVE theme, and a “making of” video.
