Blacklight:Tango Down XBLA Review

August 20th, 2010 | By Denoch

With so many first person shooters out on the market, it is difficult to pass up on decent ones, especially if you are a fan of the genre. Blacklight: Tango Down is another option to get your shooter fix, at an affordable price.

Gameplay /Story: When you first fire the game up, you will enter a “Combat Zone” where you will find private and public matches. Next is the Black Ops missions, you can either play solo or kill the enemies with your friends. In Black Ops you can’t figure out if it’s the main campaign or if it’s just another random mission that you play with your buddies. When you start the mission you are placed right in front of the action with only objectives needed to accomplish to proceed to the next round. This area of the combat zone lacks storyline and lacks clues to what is happening around this over-run and destroyed city. You will have to go to the “How to Play” section to find out what your purpose in the game is. (more…)

Limbo (XBLA) Review

July 27th, 2010 | By Desz

What really attracted me to Limbo initially was the unique art style the game brings to the Xbox 360. While its art style plays a huge part of the game, I was shocked to find a few things about Limbo that were completely unexpected. (more…)

Crackdown 2 Review

July 19th, 2010 | By Desz

TQ-Desz

Developed by Realtime Worlds, Crackdown 2 is what Crackdown fans have been waiting for over 3 years, with more orb hunting, climbing on buildings, shooting the enemy, killing bosses….oh wait, killing bosses is not part of the sequel. But did I mention orb hunting?

Replay Value/Story: One of the things that really made the original Crackdown such a great game, were the missions, the satisfaction of getting to the main boss of a gang and punching the lights out of him with your high level fighting skills. In Crackdown 2, you can forget about fighting bosses, the main goal in the sequel is to protect beacons from Mutants…Yes, you read right. While collecting orbs, shooting the enemy and causing massive explosions is still very addicting and satisfying, the game as a whole, feels less active as the first. (more…)

July 17th, 2010 | By Desz

Microsoft released the new Xbox 360 250GB Slim model to replace all older 360 models this past June. With new 360’s hitting the shelves, the older models are dropping in price, and one model should be considered as an alternative to the slim, packing the same storage at 250GB, same color, and a cooler and low power consumption system than older 360s. Iron Man 2 Movie Review

May 6th, 2010 | By TheL1T1G4T0R

Sequels are always scrutinized because the general opinion is…well they usually suck. Prepare to abandon that thought because Iron Man 2 kills it.

Tony Stark’s creation of the Iron Man prototypes were indeed amazing but in the second installment of the series, we once again find out what’s too good to be true usually is. Tony Stark faces his problem with his usual bravado and lone wolf tactics until he’s forced to rethink his approach by Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), the United States government, and even his own allies.

What sets this apart from most sequels is that we find out just enough about Tony Stark’s past to truly understand his personality and at the same time learn more about his new nemesis’ motivation for retribution. However, this new information and all the branches of the story feel like a natural progression of the first movie. Iron Man 2 does not suffer from having too much story or plot holes that take away from the action either. (more…)
