I also got a chance to check out Foul Play today, and to be honest with you, I had an enjoyable experience. The game itself is around 1.97 GB or so, and is currently available for download on Xbox Live. So what did I think of it? I felt that this was a trip down classic beat em up memory lane, and that’s not a bad thing. Let’s take a moment to go over the highs and low of my experience with this one, shall we?
The Good: Controls are easy to understand, gameplay is fast and exciting, the visual style of the consistently changing environments are beautiful to look at, and also fun to play in. Co-op mode just adds even more chaos to every situation, but in a good way. Having your life meter triggered by the applause of the audience is an interesting twist as well.
The Bad: Gameplay can get somewhat repetitive at times, and a large amount of enemies piling up the screen can sometimes make certain situations difficult to get through, other than that, nothing.
Final Demo Verdict: Foul Play is a fun brawler with some unique ideas, and is definitely something fans of the genre should consider checking out.
