Monday Savings For The Everyday Gamer: Volume 14

Break out that piggy bank, it’s time for another installment of Monday Savings For The Everyday Gamer. If you are unsure about what’s going on here, please refer to our previous article for more information. Today we are going to take a look at a fun platforming title that simple to understand, but difficult to master. Let’s move to find out exactly what I’m talking about, shall we?

The fourteenth title in our collection is a $2.99 (until October 10th) 3DS Download that goes by the name of Bike Rider DX. The best description I can come up with is take Excitebike, mix it with Bit. Trip Runner, and you have this game. If you are not sure what that means, look up videos for each one, and then you will understand. There are various areas to play in, ranging from New York to Paris, each with their own sets of obstacles and challenges for players to overcome. Sounds simple right? Well, in theory it is, but in practice, the level of skill needed to finish each area becomes a practice in patience and skill that definitely separates the dedicated players from the frustrated ones in the long run.

As usual, let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first. Honestly, there is not much to complain about here. If I had to find something bad to say at all,  it would be that there are no leaderboards to show off scores to other players. Other that minor little detail though, I have nothing to complain what so ever.

Now on to the good stuff. First of all, the overall gameplay is addictive and enjoyable for the most part. Controls are about as simple as it gets, one button to perform actions, directional pad to move characters, that’s it. Adding different powerups to make some of the more difficult areas a little bit easier to get through was a nice touch as well. Replay value in the form of medals, achievements, and extra stages will definitely keep people coming back for more too. Last, but certainly not least, $2.99 for something like this is well worth the price of admission, enough said.

If you are looking for a fun experience on the go, Bike Rider DX has you covered, download it now.

Here is a trailer for the game, Enjoy!

P.S. – I know this picture isn’t for this game, sorry about that.
