It’s that time once again for another installment of Monday Savings For The Everyday Gamer. If you are unsure about what’s going on here, please refer to our previous article for more information. Today we are going to take a look at a platformer that is traditional in almost every way, but is still very fun to play nonetheless. Let’s move to find out exactly what I’m talking about, shall we?

The twelfth title in our collection is a $3.99 (only until July 8th) Nintendo 3DS Download that goes by the name of Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo. Basically you make your way through a number of different levels, and the objective is to collect all of the acorns within them to move on to the next one. There are three worlds to play through that are made up of four seasons(summer, spring, fall, winter) each, and encompass each weather element gameplay wise in it’s own unique way. Sounds pretty simple right? Well, it is in theory, but in practice, each new area presents a higher level of challenge that will keep even the most seasoned gamers on their toes at all times.

As usual, let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first. This won’t be a long paragraph to be honest with you, because there isn’t really anything to complain about here. My only main issue with the game as a whole is that the jumping mechanics can be a little bit slippery at times, which results in some unfair deaths at times. Other than this though, I can’t find anything to complain about at all whatsoever.

Now on to the good stuff. First of all, aside from my one complaint about the controls, the overall gameplay is solid, and also a whole lot of fun as well.  Controls are extremely easy to understand, one button to jump, directional pad to move left and right, that’s it. The visual is nothing special, but for what the developers were going for, it works. What impressed me the most here was the replay value, which offered achievements, unlockable costumes and difficulty modes, and so on. Finally, the game is only $3.99 (until July 8th), and for what you get, there is no reason to pass this up at all.

If anybody looking to relive the good old days of platforming, then Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo is the game for you, download it now.

Here is a trailer that I found for the game, enjoy!
