Just got the chance to check out the trial version of Retro City Rampage for XBLA, and it was a very enjoyable blast from the past experience to say the least. The trial version itself is around 43 MB or so, and is currently available for download on Xbox Live. So what did I think about it? Well, anybody in the mood for taking a look into their gaming past will certainly be pleased with this one, because everything here will give you that very lovely nostalgic feelings in ways you never even imagined. Let’s take a moment to go over the highs and low of my experience with this one, shall we?
The Good: The controls are simple and easy to understand, gameplay moves along at a fun and frantic pace, numerous moments from my gaming past gave me fond memories, visual style is simple, yet extremely acceptable given the source material, and a genuine sense of humor throughout makes the overall experience that much more enjoyable.
The Bad: The size of the characters are a little small and difficult to see, other than that, nothing.
Final Demo Verdict: Fun, replayable, and full of life, Retro City Rampage has a little something for everyone. Download it now, enough said.
