It’s that time once again to check out what’s new in the world of Nintendo Downloads. Aside from a good deal on an old handheld classic, some dlc, and the debut of full game purchases coming this weekend, there are not a whole lot of new digital experiences to talk about. While finally being able to obtain full retail games is a great accomplishment, I would have preferred more releases from other third party developers as well. Hopefully things will turn around soon, but as far as right now goes, that just doesn’t seem possible.
After some careful consideration, and a limited amount of options to choose from, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week is going to be Crazy Chicken Pirates 3D for the 3DS Download Service. It has an ESRB rating of E10+, and will be available for download soon through the Nintendo eShop at the asking price of $1.99. The reason why I chose this one was because even though both offerings are the exact same game, an enhanced presentation just seemed like the right decision to make for obvious reasons. anybody who feels the same way I do should download this title as soon as possible. If 3D visuals give you a headache, you can always try out the DSiWare version instead.
Before we go, there are a still a couple of things left for us to discuss. New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS will be available for download on August 19th through the eShop, but no official price details have been confirmed at this time. New DLC for the Square Enix game Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy is now available (sorry, no official details here either). Finally, Mario’s Picross is receiving a price reduction to $2.99 until August 22nd, so if you haven’t had the chance to play it yet, now may be the time to do so.
All this and more can be found in the eShop, DSi, and Wii Shop Channels very soon. Have fun!
