Nintendo Download of the Week: 7/5 Edition

NDOTW_TQ

It’s that time once again to check out what’s new in the world of Nintendo Downloads. Apparently a passing holiday means sensory overload because every single service available is receiving a new title this time around. In spite of having a number of things to do, I’m not sure if there is anything here worth playing at all. Quantity doesn’t always mean quality people, but let’s give it the benefit of the doubt anyways and see if there is a hidden gem in amidst all of the mess, shall we?

After taking a look at the rubble of garbage, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week is going to be 2020 Super Baseball for the Wii VC service. It has an ESRB rating of E for Everyone, and will be available for download through the Wii Shop Channel at the asking price of 900 Wii Points. The reason why I picked this one out of the pile was because an idea as absurd as robots playing baseball actually sounds like it would be an enjoyable experience in video game form. If you feel the same way I do then by all means check out this title as soon as possible. Anybody not interested in machines relieving America’s past time can try out their pot making skills ( actual pots people) in the new game for WiiWare entitled Let’s Create! Pottery.

Don’t worry my handheld friends, there are still two new 3DS VC titles, two 3DS Downloads titles, two new DSiWare titles, and one new 3DS demo for you to check out. Relive the first adventure Link ever had in Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda. Go par for the hole when playing NES Open Tournament Golf. See what new ideas this strange developer has come up with in his latest game Akari by Nikoli. The word love has a whole new meaning when it comes to something like Family Tennis 3D. Create as many words as possible before the timer runs out in 3, 2, 1… Words Up!. Put those geography skills of yours to the test when playing Topoloco.See what exploring dungeons are like, for a limited time anyways,  when checking out the Heroes of Ruin demo.

One more thing, the 3DS Download title Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword is receiving a price reduction this week from $6.99 to $4.99, so if you haven’t had the chance to play it yet, now may be the time to do so.

All this and more can be found in the eShop, DSi, and Wii Shop Channels very soon. Have fun!
