Nintendo Download of the Week: 5/17 Edition

Welcome to another installment of what’s new in the world of Nintendo downloads. After taking an honest look at everything that’s on offer here, I have to say that despite only having three new games to check out, there are actually some titles here worthy of your time and money. The Wii goes from having a stellar outing of VC releases to being almost nonexistent, but in all honesty, it’s not really all that surprising. Despite this minor annoyance, things are looking up on the digital front, and hopefully more developers will start paying attention and create more quality experiences in the future because of it.

After some careful consideration, I have chosen which title stands out above the rest. My pick for Nintendo Download of the Week is Kirby’s Block Ball for the 3DS Virtual Console service. It has an ESRB rating of E for Everyone, and will be available for download through the Nintendo eShop at the asking price of $2.99. The reason why I picked this one instead of the others is because block busting games are just simply a whole lot of fun to play. If you are a fan of them as well then by all means download this game as soon as possible.

Not interested in breaking blocks for points, don’t worry, there is still one new DSiWare title, one 3DS Demo, and one new Nintendo Video for you to check out. Try to stay away from the light when playing Chronicles of Vampires: The Awakening. Enjoy a brief installment of platforming heaven in the demo for Rayman Origins. I seriously doubt that a whole film would release a week early onto a video service, but go ahead and check out the new Nintendo Video for the movie Men in Black 3 anyways.

All this and more can be found in the eShop, DSi, and Wii Shop Channels very soon. Have fun!
