Hello everybody, welcome to another installment of that finger licking good segment we like to call This is How We Eat. If you are unfamiliar with what’s going on here, please refer to our previous articles for more information. Despite how messy ribs are, sometimes they are just so delicious that you just don’t care. Today we are going to take a look at a place which can satisfy anybodies craving for a little bit of southern style cuisine, Bubba’s Q.
Established in 2005, this fantastic restauraunt, owned and operated by former Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Al “Bubba” Baker, has become one of my girlfriend and I’s favorite places to go when we are in the mood for a small slice of barbecue heaven. We usually start off every meal with an order of their Southern Fries topped with Pulled Pork, Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, and end it with a coating of BBQ sauce just to give it a little more flavor. After finishing that (which could be a meal in and of itself), we order a full slab of their St. Louis Style Ribs, and get Mac and Cheese and Baked Apples as our side dishes. Usually this is where the journey ends though, because neither one of us have ever had enough room for dessert, but as you might have already figured out, everything else was so good that it really doesn’t matter.
My only problem with this place at all has nothing to do with food at all whatsoever, but more to do with the location of the restaurant instead. It usually takes me about an hour to so to get out there, which in turn consumes quite a bit of gas from my car, and in today’s economy, you want to try to avoid going to the gas station as much as possible. Thankfully everything on their menu is fairly priced, and usually rounds out at $40 for a dinner for two (appetizer, drinks, meal, and bread included), so you won’t be spending that much to begin with. So if you are on a tight budget, this is definitely the place to go.
If any of you ever decide to head up to Avon, Ohio, be sure to stop by and spend some time at Bubba’s Q, you’ll be glad you did.
