EA and BioWare are making history with Mass Effect 3. First they send the game into space, and now they are giving fans a chance to grab the actual games that have been sent up to space weeks before its official release. Launch cities will include Las Vegas, New York, London, Paris, and Berlin, with San Francisco being the first to launch tomorrow February 23 at 7:00 and 10:00 AM. Students from Texas A&M’s High Altitude Balloon Club will assist with the launches, which will use “high altitude weather balloons and specially designed payloads composed of HD cameras and GPS tracking devices.”
If you are interested in knowing when and where these copies will fall, keep it locked on the official space program webpage here, http://masseffect.com/space
EA also stated that each copy of the Space Edition that survives the space travel will also come with an on-of-a-kind fan prize package and other prizes for the runner ups.
