Hello everybody, and welcome to the second installment of the “This is How We Eat” series here at TQCast. If you are unsure as to what these articles are about, here is a quick little rundown. Basically, aside from being a gamer there are other things I like to do, and that is eat. So, just to have some fun, the rest of the crew and myself are going to discuss places that we like to go to stuff our faces at, and hopefully end up giving you a little bit of insight as to what goes on in our neck of the woods as well. Today I am going to talk about a place that really shows what my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio is all about, Sokolowski’s University Inn.
Established in 1923, this delightful little Polish restaraunt serves up some of the best food the city has to offer. Some of my favorite entrees include the butter bathed Homemade Pierogi’s, the ever so delightful Chicken Paprikash, juicy Kielbasa, and the always delicious breaded Pork Chops. Out of all these dishes though, the one that I seem to go for the most is the Chicken Paprikash with mashed potatoes and corn on the side. Whenever my mouth comes into contact with the chicken, it’s like a blessing from the man above. There’s just something about how tender the chicken is that makes my mouth water every single time, too bad I can’t ever finish my meal because of how big it is, but that’s beside the point.
What may turn some people off at first, and I have to be honest with you, was the fact that everything is set up like a cafeteria. Let’s be honest, most of the time the word cafeteria isn’t associated with quality food; thankfully isn’t the case in this situation. As far as prices go, you probably won’t spend anymore than about $25 a person at the most, and for how much they give you here, believe me it’s worth it.
If any of you are ever in my neck of the woods, be sure to check this place out.
Also, if there are any other places that you think we might like to check out, please let us know in the comments below.
Check out this video from the food network that showcases what the place is most known for (which are so good my gf and I made them at home), Pierogies, enjoy!
