This latest installment of Nintendo downloads don’t look too bad actually. A couple of retro style platformers hit the handheld devices, and a somewhat interesting physics based puzzle game makes its way to the Wii. As always, the lack of any Wii VC is disappointing, but in this case it shouldn’t put that much of damper on what is, for the most part, one of the better offerings of digital titles that I have seen in quite some time. That being said here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for January 26th, 2012.
My pick for this week is going to have to go to Mutant Mudds for the 3DS Download Service. It has an ESRB rating of E for Everyone, and will be available for download soon, through the Nintendo eShop, at the asking price of $8.99. The reason that I chose this game above the rest was because I have a soft spot in my heart for old school style platformers. If you feel the same I do then by all means download this title as soon as it becomes available.
As far as the rest of the handheld downloads go, there are two new DSiWare games, along with one new 3DS demo for you to check out. A little boy’s goldfish is up to no good once again in Flipper 2: Flush the Goldfish. Now I’ve learned my ABCs from playing Lola’s Alphabet Train. Go for the gold, or at least train for it when playing the Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games demo.
To finish things off, our poor little friend the Wii only has one new WiiWare game available for download. Try to keep a group of scientists alive as long as possible in Newton Vs The Horde.
All this and more can be found in the eShop, DSi, and Wii Shop Channels very soon. Have fun!
