This is How We Eat: Melt Bar & Grilled

Welcome everybody to the first installment of a series of articles exclusive to TQCast. As much as all of us enjoy playing video games, there’s something that I personally like to do way more, and the size of my gut can vouch for this, and that’s eat. Seriously, sitting in one spot for hours at a time works up quite an appetite. So, to give you all a little bit of glimpse of our world, I thought it would be fun for all of us to share with you some of our favorite places that we like to eat in a segment we like to call “This is How We Eat.” Today, I am going to talk about the restaraunt that serves some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches you will ever eat, Melt Bar & Grilled.

Originating in Lakewood, Ohio, this place believes that there’s more than one way to create a grilled cheese sandwich. Such creations include a lasagna based concoction known as The Godfather, a pierogi lovers dream called Parmageddon, and a creation that could quite possibly burn your entire mouth called the Big Popper. My personal favorite is the Westside Monte Cristo Melt, which includes a combination of ham, turkey, swiss, and american cheese, served on beer battered bread, sprinkled with a little bit of powdered sugar on top, and a side of mixed berry preserves for dipping. Every single time I take a bite out of this sandwich it puts a smile on my face, there is simply nowhere else on the planet where you are going to find a perfect combination of sweet and spicy, just be sure to have a few wetnaps on hand because things will get messy.

As great as the food is, my only real gripe with this place is that’s it’s almost damn near impossible to get a table every single time my friends and I decide to go there. Seriously, the wait to try one of these beloved creations could be in upwards of three hours at a time, and if you’re not up for that, my best advice to you is to just place a carryout order instead. As far as pricing is concerned, you really won’t break the bank here. The most I have ever spent was probably around $50, and that was for two meals, two drinks, and two desserts, so in the end, you’re really getting quite a bang for your buck.

If any of you are ever in my neck of the woods, be sure to check this place out for you won’t be disappointed.

Also, if there are any other places that you think we might like to check out, please let us know in the comments below.

P.S.- Here is a video feature on this place from a show called Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on the Food Network, enjoy!
