Nintendo Download of the Week: 12/15 Edition

Not really anything exciting going on in the world of Nintendo downloads this time around. For some unforeseen reason, a group of developers thought it would be fun to give console owners a chance to refresh their math skills. Yawn, boring. As far as everything else goes, unless you’re into singing Christmas carols, using simple paint programs, or have an addiction to Mahjong, it may be a wise idea on your part to save those points for something better down the road. Despite what I just said, a winner must be chosen, so let’s get right to it shall we? Here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for December 15th, 2011.

My pick for this week is going to have to go to Blaster Master: Enemy Below for the 3DS VC Service. It has an ESRB rating of E for Everyone, and will be available for download soon, through the Nintendo eShop, at the asking price of $4.99. The reason why I chose this one above the rest was because it honestly seems like this might be the only game worth checking out. If you feel the same way I do then by all means download the game as soon as it becomes available.

Our portable friends will also have three new DSiWare to check out this time around as well. Complete your mission, no matter what it takes in Elite Forces: Unit 77. Gather around the tree, sip some egg nog, laugh about how stupid your sweater looks, and sing some Christmas carols together in Just Sing! Christmas Vol. 3. Mixing cute animals and Mahjong together creates a monster called Wordjong Arcade.

As usual, Wii owners get the short end of the stick with only one new Wiiware game and demo available for download. A popular cartoon from my childhood tries to capture a new age of followers in Carmen Sandiego Adventures in Math: The Lady Liberty Larceny. Anybody in desperate need of some basic painting lessons may want to give the Paint Splash demo a try.

All this and more can be found in the eShop, DSi, and Wii Shop Channels very soon. Have fun!

Oh my glob, I loved Carmen Sandiego when I was younger. We had this red laptop-like game console that we’d play on and thwart her red hat wearing ways. I’m sorry Ms. Sandiego, no I don’t want the White House painted black. Please do NOT take the Easter Island statues. My math skills totally stopped her.

      Is she from San Diego?
