Nintendo Download of the Week: 10/06

Not much to talk about in the Nintendo downloadable shops today, but some of what’s on offer here does actually look quite promising. Wii owners still get the snub this time around, while portable gamers get a whole new slew of content to sink their teeth into. I don’t think it will be that hard to pick a favorite, but you never know, something could make me change my mind at the last minute (which probably won’t happen). Either way, here it is, my pic for Nintendo Download of the Week for October 6th, 2011.

My pick for this week is going to have to go to Horizon Riders for the Wiiware service. It has an ESRB rating of E10+, and will be available for download soon, through the Wii Shop Channel, at the asking price of 800 Wii Points. The reason why I chose this one above the rest was because I kind of like the idea of an on-rails shooter that supports the usage of the Wii Zapper and Balance Board at the same time. This could either prove to be a complete disaster, or a masterpiece in the making, but only time will tell. If you are down for something like this, go ahead and download the game as soon as possible. Those who are unsure can try out the demo for it first before they make their decision.

Anybody looking for something a little bit more on the portable side will have one new 3DS VC title, along with two new DSiWare titles to check out. Try to not hit the 8-Ball on your first shot in Side Pocket. Be sure not to trip over any mines in Classic Minesweeper. That crazy doctor is at it once again, see what House has gotten himself into this time by checking out House, M.D. – Episode 3: Skull and Bones.

All of this, and more, can be found in the eShop, DSi, and Wii Shop Channels very soon, have fun!
