Nintendo Download of the Week: 8/25 Edition

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, this latest installment of your weekly Nintendo download update was delayed. No worries though, everything is back on track now, so let’s check out what the big n has to offer. Well, seems like there is a little bit of something for everybody this time around. Even Wii owners get a new demo to try out, what a shocker. I think it won’t be that hard to pick a favorite here, so here it is, my pick for Nintendo Download of the Week for August 25th (even though I’m writing this a day after), 2011.

My pick for this week is going to have to go to Magical Whip: Wizards of the Phantasmal Forest for the DSiWare service. It has an ESRB rating of E for Everyone, and is currently available for download, through the DSi, and eShop Channels at the asking price of 200 DSi Points ($1.99 in eShop). After checking out the trailer for this game, I decided this was going to my pick because the core concept of using enemies to attack other enemies sounded kind of interesting. Anybody who feels the same way as I do about this should go ahead and download this game right now.

Not in the mood for some spellcasting?, don’t worry, there are still two other DSiWare titles, one new 3DS VC title, and two new nintendo videos available for download.  If you want to become a sculpter, but don’t have the time, or money to go to a pottery class, then be sure to check out Let’s Create! Pottery. For those people out there who tend to have trouble with solving difficult math problems, the Calculator might be able to make things easier for them. Protect the Ghoul Realm from the evil Destroyers in Gargoyle’s Quest. The two new videos this week are  Upgrade Your Life from the Blue Man Group, and Moving Still by Santiago Caicedo.

And finally, Wii owners will be to try out a demo of Kyotokei for the Wiiware service, and they can also learn what it takes to be a firefighter in The Ignition Factor  for the Virtual Console.

All of this, and more, can be found in the eShop, DSi, and Wii Shop Channels right now, have fun!
