Have you ever had one of those moments where you are trying to figure out what to do in order to earn an achievement in a certain game?, us too. Sometimes these developers don’t clearly lay out any hints at all to help us out either, and that can in turn cause confusion and frustration for a gamer. So what we here at TQCast have decided to do is give those who are addicted to unlocking these things a little bit of help in doing so. Welcome to Achievers Anonymous, a group where a gamer, a controller, and a tv is the only type of meeting that will ever occur.
The first game that we are are going to help you earn some more points in is Comic Jumper for the XBLA, made by Twisted Pixel Games. Let’s take a moment to iron out the details about what specific achievement we are going to help you guys out with.
Achievement: He ain’t even married
Description: Survive a specific section without getting hit
Gamerscore Points Earned for unlocking: 20
As much as I love these developers games, the problem with this achievement is in its description. Who is actually going to know where to go, and what to do if it is not clearly laid out for them? To be fair, finding out for ourselves does make this more of a challenge, but in all honesty, sometimes even just the slightest hint would be nice every once in awhile. Despite this problem, actually earning this reward is not that hard to do.
Before I tell you where to go, let’s talk about what you will need to have in order to make this process as painless as possible. First of all, be sure to have all of Captain Smiley’s attributes maxed out, and to also purchase three help me powerups from Dr. Winklemeyer as well. The easiest way to do this is to just try and go for the achievement after the game is over, because then the player will have as much money as possible to buy whatever they want, every level will be unlocked already, and more than likely their stats will be maxed out too. Now head on over to the level select area all the way on the end, and choose the stage entitled Improbable Paper Pals 79.
About halfway through the stage, Smiley will fall down through a purple area, and will eventually come into contact with a boss named Benny, who has decided to chase after him with a giant car with a drill on the end of it, oh how fun. Just to be safe, make sure Smiley is at full health before moving on, because I’m not sure if you have to just survive without taking damage in your current state or if doing this at full capacity from the start is the way to go. During the first phase of this fight, just keep spamming the trigger button to damage him as much as possible, and dodge the drill by going in the opposite direction of where its trying to hit you. Missiles will also come into contact with you here, but they are pretty easy to avoid, just hide behind the cover, and when there is an opportunity to escape, take it.
Right before the end of this section, which is when Benny decides to speed up, use the first of your three help me powerups(the y button will activate them). In addition to bringing him down to at least 570,000 hit points at this point, this attack should take inflict an additional 150,000 to 170,000 points of damage, which will now bring his health down to around 410,000 points give or take. The next section has your character falling down another purple colored area, and the boss has now decided to go ahead and attack you from the top. There are two types of attacks to dodge here, lasers, and obivously the drill. The drill is easy to avoid, only this time instead of going up and down, Smiley will have to move left and right to dodge it. To avoid damage from the lasers, just move into an area where its not shooting, and you will be fine.
If all goes well, and you kept on shooting him throughout this entire section, Benny should only have 309,000 health at this stage in the fight. When you enter the next area, dodge the lasers beams like in the last area, and avoid the electrical traps for a little bit, get his health down to around 283,000 or so, hit the help me button two more times, and then the fight should be over. Congratulations, you just unlocked the He Ain’t Even Married achievement for 20 gamerscore points.
And that’s how you do it, but remember this, everything you do here has to be done without taking a single hit, so be sure to memorize every single part before trying it out. For those who go ahead and give it a shot, let me know how it goes by leaving a comment below, or to leave suggestions on other games that are giving you problems as well.

P.S. – Sorry I couldn’t find any images of the level in question.
