hmm, 60hz horizontal refresh rate, that makes this tv 120hz standard and 60hz 3D or what? from what i understood the ps tv has 240hz which makes 120hz horizontal which is why it can do the 2player single screen thingy it’s boasting.

Either way, this is a good bang for da $$ but depending on what your purpose for the tv is i don’t know if this is better for gaming… we’ll have to see once it launches and people start reviewing it head on against other tvs on the market..

No its not a better deal … Vizios tvs r crap! I have a 22″ vizio in my bedroom which works fine, but I bought a 32″ vizio for my wife n it was crap. Within 2months time I had to exchange it 3 times bc it kept power cycling on its own and sometimes the entire screen would go black … so finally I ended up getting an LG in exchange and there was a HUGE improvement between the two tvs. The LG screen was sharper, deeper blacks n better contrast … not to mention that the vizio had alot of ghosting during high action moments during games and movies that the LG didn’t have. IMO the Vizio model is definitely NOT a better alternative. Financially, maybe but quality definitely not.
PS … the vizio can’t dual splitscreen 3d either. The sony tv is made specifically for gaming. The vizio is for people on low budgets that can’t afford a nicer tv … but just remember, when it comes to electronics u get what u pay for … there’s a reason vizio can offer items at that price: inferior product.

Its way worse of an alternative first off you must have forgot that the sony tv splits in two. And secondly you get over 150 of extra stuff game hdmi and glasses. The only way that you wouldnt buy sony is if you hate them for some stupid reason and what does the viso connect to. At this point in technology. Its all about connect items. Easy to sink products

What’s the differences of the two pair of glasses that the vizio tv brings? it said one premium and one basic. And if is better than the sony 3d glasses

  • DarthDiggler

I can’t speak for this particular Sony but Vizio TVs are garbage. Their is a lack of controls for the image (this one model my aunt had didn’t have any means to adjust the Gamma). To compound that, the image is horrible looking when compared to even the “Walmart” brand.

The only reason people know of Vizio is they had a strong marketing campaign. I never known anyone to recommend a Vizio.

    What’s a vizio? O.o

That sony deal is a steal! Unfortunately, you’re the one being robbed.

500 dollars for 24″? Only fools will fall for it.

The Sony deal isn’t just a 24″ TV. It’s going to offer 2-player co-op with each player being able to use the whole screen instead of having only half of a split screen to himself. It also ushers in some lower-cost active shutter glasses for 69.99 that work with any active 3D TV, and gives you a pair with the TV, as well as a copy of Resistance 3 and an HDMI cable. So you are paying somewhere under $370 for the TV itself, and while it is on the small side, it has the new fullscreen splitscreen going for it, and plus Sony acknowledged in the press conference that it would often be utilized in dorm rooms and bedrooms.

vizio is garbage? must be basing your opinions on first gen wave of products, ive owned 3 vizios and the only reason I’ve ever gotten rid of them is when im upgrading to a bigger model, you name brand elitists get off on watching the name brand on the frame of the tv,wake up call, YOURE SUPPOSED TO WATCH THE ACTUAL PICTURE and base it off that,to each their own, keep paying more for the false sense of security/superiority.

  • mookiechan

That is $605.42 not the price you have listed… the NON 3D version is closer to the price you mentioned.
