Dance Paradise Review

Game: Dance Paradise
Genre: Rhythm & Dance
System: XBOX 360
Review By: Illmatic

Music rhythm games have changed since their initial introduction. We have seen DJ games, band games, even singing games! As these music games are changing, the way we play these games is changing as well. Dance Paradise is a rhythm and dance game that has you shaking your booty to score tons of points. Is Dance Paradise just a gimmick, or does it have what it takes to get the party started?

Gameplay: Dance Paradise is a dance and rhythm game that utilizes the Kinect. Like most music games, Dance Paradise has colored dance moves moving from top to bottom that you must replicate. By replicating the dance moves you build up your score and dance power. When activated, dance power doubles your score and it can be activated by jumping. Each level is passed by completing a specific challenge for that level. Some levels require a certain score, while another level might require the use of dance power 3 times.

Graphics: The graphics in Dance Paradise are good for what they are. They are not meant to blow you away, and believe me they don’t. Instead, Dance Paradise focuses on its gameplay by not overemphasizing the graphics. I will mention this though, there are a lot of vibrant colors in Dance Paradise. There is also a few different environments that you will be dancing in, maybe a beach or maybe a club.

Sound: What would a rhythm and dance game be without the proper sound. The soundtrack in Dance Paradise is one of the best soundtracks that I have seen in a music game in a long time. It has a little bit of everything so the whole family will have fun.

Controls: If you have ever used the Kinect then you probably know that most of the games have very poor motion controlling. This is not the case here as Dance Paradise tracks your motions almost perfectly. It is by far one of the best games for the Kinect.

Wishes: Dance Paradise suffers from ridiculously long load times. If it wasn’t for these load times Dance Paradise could easily be the best Kinect game to date.

TQ Bottom Line: If you are looking to have some major fun, then look no further than Dance Paradise. Dance Paradise is a fun game to play with your friends and family.

Final Score: 4 out of 5 Michelas!
