Sony Speaks on God of War 3 Near 3 Million, GoW3 PS3 Bundle Possibilities, and Ghost of Sparta

I recently had a chance to talk with Eric Levine (Sony Product Manager), to ask him about God of War 3’s near 3 million sales mark, and whether Sony anticipated to have reached 3 million in only 6 month’s of God of War 3’s release, as well as the possibilities of a God of War 3 PS3 Bundle anytime soon.

With God of War 3 sitting at 2.91 million copies sold world wide after only 6 months of its release, the game has proven to hold its own by selling exceptionally well. Fans of God of War who have been asking for a God of War 3 PS3 bundle may want to focus on a GoW: Ghost of Sparta PSP bundle instead. Sony has no plans to release a God of War 3 PS3 bundle, however, Sony is certain that the God of War: Ghost of Sparta PSP bundle will attract newcomers and fans of the series.

Eric Levine (Sony Product Manager) had this to say:

“There are a lot of GoW fans out there, but we put a lot of resources towards bringing newcomers to the franchise with the release of GoW Collection and GoWIII. Therefore, we anticipated strong sales and have been thrilled with the game’s performance. We don’t have plans for a PS3 bundle, but we do expect fans and newcomers to get behind the upcoming GoW: Ghost of Sparta Entertainment Pack hitting stores on November 2 for PSP.”

The Ghost of Sparta bundle does look very sexy, and just in time for the holidays. By December, God of War 3 will certainly be passed 3 million, but how cool would it have been to have a Gow III PS3 bundle? Sure would have boosted sales in both hardware and software.
