Microsoft Kinect Makes You Look Silly, But It Will Outsell Move

Let’s face it, Microsoft’s Kinect and Sony’s PlayStation Move are nothing but marketing schemes to stop the Wii’s dominating sells onslaught, and while it may seem as if both Microsoft and Sony are late to the party, both companies will sell their fare share of motion controlled systems, but Kinect is specifically made to sell to the casual gamers, which equals, ‘greater sales’.

One example of how consumer friendly Kinect is, would be the one single Kinect camera consumers would purchase, while the PS Move may confuse consumers with separate accessories and prices. Heck, consumers want to see something different, most casual gamers already own a Wii, watching a PS Move commercial may leave them thinking ‘it’s like the Wii”. While Kinect introduces something curious and different

The release date of both motion systems, are also something to consider. The PS Move releases in September, while Kinect releases in November, just in time for the holiday season. While both will offer holiday deals, the Kinect is targeted specially at the younger crowd. Look at the games Kinect is starting off with, all simple and kiddy games that have proved to be a hit with the Nintendo Wii.

Kinect makes you look Silly

Yes, Kinect makes you look pretty silly, and while there might not be any intention to buy a motion system like it, looking at people play it, might get you to buy it and play it, where no one can see you. PlayStation Move will get the hardcore gamers excited for motion controls, and Kinect is set to sell out, and bring back the whole ‘Tickle me Elmo’ frenzy that took place in 1996. Ok, maybe not that crazy.

This article has a point with the kiddy games but forgets that with the kinetc a xbox systems price tag will be easily over 400 bucks. And this is the reason why Nintendo will smack it down because Wii costs only couple hundred with games where as kinect only will be over 200 bucks even if you already had xbox.

“PS Move may confuse consumers with separate accessories and prices. ”

You mean like Wii Fit, Wii motion plus, attachments, upcomming vitality sensor…..

Yeah and they’re all are or will be big sellers.

I believe it will only sell more at first but people will end up getting refunds because it wasn’t like they thought… Many Microsoft consumers don’t look up what they buy so they don’t realize how bad it is before getting it… Move overall is a lot better because its far more precise, faster, and has more possibilites and can play practically every normal controller game and it can play all Wii games and all the Kinect games that were shown. I think it will die out soon after its launched and that Move will quickly pick up because I think it will exceed expectations. All the videos are real and it has some great games coming out at launch and lots of them. Kinect faked Forza 3s “gameplay” live and its still quite laggy compared to Wii and in a way less precise as well.

PS Move is only going to have charging stations, “gloves, etc. type of accessories. It isn’t going to have the Wii Fit or vitality sensor and it tracks at 1:1 motion(its like a sniper rifle, EVERY tiny millimeter you move matters) so you won’t ever need something like Motion Plus.

    You’re right wtf.

    Just like everything else.

HD DVD pwned by Blu Ray.

    Xbox 360 pwned by PS3.

    Apple pwned by Google.

    Kinect pwned by Move.

People don’t buy things with common sense. They buy whatever is cool. Then when something else becomes popular, they buy that.

I’m not trying to be elitist. It is just worrying to know that loads of people don’t buy things intelligently. And people wonder why the USA is so far behind everybody else in technology.
