Top 5 Best-Selling PS3 Exclusive Titles To Date

More than 3 years after the PlayStation 3’s release, the system continues to amaze many with its incredible video game library. Uncharted 2, God of War 3 and Heavy Rain are just some of the latest PS3 games that have sold well in 2009 and 2010. But from the time of the PS3’s release in 2006 and today, there have been 5 PS3 exclusive games that have sold more than any other PS3 exclusive. Here are the top 5 best selling PS3 exclusive games to date.

5. Little Big Planet 3.21 Million

Little Big Planet is the game the whole family can enjoy, and the best way to get your lady to play games. It is a puzzle platformer game, centered around user-generated content; basically–create your own game. The possibilities are endless, and a huge reason why it has sold over 3 million copies in so little big time.

4. MotorStorm 3.52 Million

It took a while for Motor Storm to reach the million mark, but once it did, it kept selling consistent. Being a PS3 launch title, MotorStorm held its own and was very popular in the PS3’s early years.

3. Gran Turismo Prologue 3.67 Million

Gran Turismo Prolouge sold well, and sold well fast. Many Gran Turismo fans, had to settle for a fraction of what is expected on the much anticipated Gran Turismo 5. But never-the-less, the game delivered what racing fans were looking for and has proven to be a beast on the PS3.

2. Resistance Fall of Man 3.68 Million

Resistance Fall of Man was the shooter to own during the PS3’s early years. It had a superb single player campaign, and was the best online shooter for the PS3 at the time. Now a day it might be difficult to find an online match, but the game’s single player campaign still hold its own.

1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 4.68 4.83 Million

The game that holds that number one spot, but not only that, it holds the title for fastest selling PS3 exclusive to date. A game that should not be missed by any PS3 gamer. The game could easily reach the 5 million mark if a trophy patch was implemented.

    @Pirateogita
    although your list is probably accurate, every one of those games are hype machines which never really panned out. just sayin’

  • What makes that Microsoft list really funny is that you see repeats.

    You don’t see any repeat of any series on the PS3 list….well probably not until GT5 comes out.

    I think Microsoft’s exclusive sales have a lot to do with the lack of many diverse titles as well as the consoles sold at those particular points in time.

    Had those same games came out up against Sony’s lineup now..I don’t think you would have seen such numbers.

      TheL1T1G4T0R dude mgs4 is a repeated series…usually a number following a games name means it is a series just stating obvious facts you didnt see but i agree about the 360 having few good exclusive games

    @Pirateogita
    Nice list, it’s easy to see the Xbox 360’s exclusives are quite limited. Not much to buy, that’s why all owners must flood to the same game. Thanks for pointing it out!

    vgchartz is a very unreliable source.

  • the numbers are really wrong, just mgs has sold more than 5 million.
    these numbers are fake.
