ModNation Racers Trailer:Create and Share

We’ve talked about it before, and now, here is the first ModNation Racers trailer! TQcast got the chance to see this very creative game at E3 2009 that reminded us very much of LittleBigPlanet and Mario Kart combined together. ModNationRacers gives you the ability to create your own track, car, character, track environment and many more features that then allows you to share with anyone around the world. I am sure that just like LittleBigPlanet, ModNationRacers will have tons of DLC even years after its release that will make it a great experience for you and your family.

This game looks really cool, I just hope it is as deep as they say when it comes to customization of the levels, I would love to make a level set in the city. Any word whether this will be a PSN title or full retail?

  • @Siggy — This will be a full retail game. It’s impressive on how much customization goes into the game.

@JUiCE – Do you think this game will sell well at $60? It looks awesome but this game better be packed with a lot of content to warrant a full $60 purchase for me. Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Modern Warfare 2 and God Of War 3 are proper full retail $60 games, I’m not too sure about this game but I hope to be proven wrong when they do announce the full specs and features. $30-$40 is the sweet spot for me for this game.

  • 60 sounds too much for any game, but I can’t see Sony allowing this game to come out for under 40. Its a lil big planet/Mario Kart game, perfect for family. I haven’t seen too many family games for under 60 on the PS3. But I do agree with you @Siggy I’m more likely to drop the 60 on a game that I know all my PSN fam will be playing. Although I still see plenty of peeps playing lil big planet. Fron the talk at E3, this game will come packed with tons of ,tracks, customization options, and online support.

I know they can’t do banana peels, but I’d like to see some type of weapons put into this game. Maybe they’ll add a DLC packs where players can adapt certain elements or put them into their vehicles.

If you seen the cartoon Avatar, you’ll get where I’m going with this. Basically you can use natural elements to boost the abilities of your vehicle.

Some car might have the ability to squirt water out and it freezes into slippery puddles behind them. Other cars may be able to use fire to melt the track resulting in their opponents getting stuck to that part of the track for a while. Another car would be able to release rolling balls of dirt that knock opponents off the track. The last car would be able to use huge blowers to push their opponents off the track, into objects, or perhaps even spin their opponents in circles for a few seconds.

Hmmm…maybe I’ve been thinking about this game way too much.

  • ZOMGWTFBBQ Can you all imagine Game Nights with MNR? I’m getting chills just contemplating it right now. Sony id DEFINITELY on the right right track with the PLAY, CREATE, SHARE platform.
