PS3 Bundles Or PS3 Slim?
July 6th, 2009 | By JUiCE

As of late, a couple of new PS3 bundles have hit store shelves trying to boost PS3 sales. First off we have the Little Big Planet and Wall-E PS3 bundle that was recommended by TQcast and Gui-J from The Gamer’s Pub. This week, rumors hit the web about the Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2 bundle. Many people are speculating that SONY is pushing all these console sellers bundles to make way for the PS3 slim, but let’s be real here folks, in my opinion we’re not getting a PS3 Slim anytime soon. The new Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle is set to be priced at $399.99 and has been rumored that some Best Buy stores already have them on shelves and others will put the up as soon as this Sunday. The final question for all those people who still do not have PS3′s, will you wait for the rumored PS3 slim, or buy this great bundle anyway?
UPDATE: Many Best Buy stores have the bundle for sale, check out the picture JUiCE was able to take while at Best Buy today in San Diego, CA.

Me personally, Slim. If I didn’t have a PS3 yet, and had 4bills on me, I would say that the Killzone 2 and MGS4 bundle would be sooooo tempting, but If I have waited this long to buy a PS3, might as well be A SLIM. I would be consider an official “PS3 slim kid”.
And by the way, I say Slim out before November, and same time as firmware 3.0.
Damn that bundle is a really good deal, both those games are excellent reasons to own a PS3. I want to buy another PS3 for the living room but I think I will wait for the Slim. If you guys can’t wait for the Slim then I highly recommend this bundle since it’s the regular price of a stand-alone PS3 and it gives you two of the best, must-have games on the system.
I’m gonna have to go with the bundle. I like the slim and all. Looks nice, but you’re getting MGS4 and Killzone 2. There’s your single player and you’re multiplayer games right there. Only problem is that there’s still no backwards compatibility. I know it’s nitpicking, but man, there’s just way too many great PS2 games to pass up. I got the MGS4 bundle when it first came out so I got the BC. If the rumors are true that they’re working on bringing BC in an update I’m all for both options. Honestly, the PS3 is so open as far as media and accessibility goes that even the most hardcore Xbox guys cannot ignore. If you haven’t got a PS3 yet, one of these needs to be your choice. You can’t pass this up.
I’d definitely go with the bundle. If you’re a gamer, you’d buy the Best Buy bundle. If you’re a parent, you’d pick up the Blockbuster bundle.
The $299 system is going to be for those that want to pick up a second system or who want an upgradeable Blu Ray player. It will no doubt get many people to buy a console.
When the old systems are gone, then these will sell like crazy. Do we know if these slim systems will be void of any features since they are slimmer?
